It was early in the morning as the Deerling bustled about looking at all her clothing. She pulled out only her nicest of dresses. She had about 20, going from very formal to Sunday’s best. Some laid on her bed, while the other hung in various places around the room. She went from dress to dress focusing on their style, color, shape, and over all comfort-ability. Dalila had to make sure it was perfect, for she –as well as the whole island – had been invited to the head of security’s wedding. Unlike most, Dalila loved to go to weddings. It had to have been in her top five favorite things to be invited too. She didn’t care at all that she didn’t know either groom on a personal level, she just loved weddings and what they symbolized. You could say that Dalila was that girl who had her own wedding planned ever since she was little. With her love of wedding’s she wanted to make sure she looked wonderful, but not too wonderful to take away from the two who were being wed.

“This is going to be so much fun!” She exclaimed with a small twirl. She grabbed one dress and went to try it on just as her ever fateful companion walked in.

The Manetric was less than thrilled that Dalila was so excited to go to the wedding. The dog was usually never allowed to go to formal events on account to his over protective nature of his owner. He was always afraid that Dalila would get hurt while out, or some guy would try to come onto her not taking no for an answer…

The Manetric gave a sudden bark to his owner. Just the thought of her getting hurt scared him.

Dalila looked over at her worried dog and smiled. “Don’t worry Louis. I will be fine at the wedding, plus it isn’t for a few days.” She reached down and rubbed his head reassuringly. Louis was anything but reassured. He gave a wine, hoping her gentle heart would hear it and change her mind. Instead the Deerling only frowned at him. “Louis I’m going to the wedding and that’s final.” She declared as she looked at herself in the mirror with a new dress on.

Louis gave a huff in irritation. He stormed over to the mirror and sat down right in front of it and gave another bark. Determination was on his face. Dalila gave a sigh and crouched down in front of the very stubborn dog. She gave him a tight hug then stroked his fur.

“Louis, you know how much I love going to weddings. I have to go. Look, if it makes you feel better the wedding his between the head of security here on Poyi and his soon-to-be-husband. With head of security there I am sure that I’ll be extra safe, at least more than usual.”

Though still upset that he wasn’t going, Louis did feel better knowing that it was the head of security’s wedding. Giving Dalila a lick on her cheek he left the room. Maybe she would be safe. He still wished he was going.

“Still can’t go?” Said a smug voice.

Louis was now in the main room that was the living room. He looked over at where the smug voice had come from only to see Miles the Liepard lounging on the couch. The cat was very smug and cocky. From the moment he had set foot in their lives he was a pain in the back, but for some reason Louis couldn’t find it in him to run the cat off and sadly enough found the cat’s company nice every once and awhile.

“No I can’t. I even tried to stop her from going but she still won’t listen to me.”

“What did you expect? She can’t speak like we can.” Miles hopped off the couch and sauntered over to Louis. “Plus, even I know she loves wedding, or rather almost any formal event.” The cat flicked it’s tail in a teasing manner at Louis. The Manetric new the Liepard was right, but he didn’t have to be cocky about it.

“I know that, but it still makes me upset. Anything can happen and what if I’m not there to protect her?”

Miles gave a heavy sigh and sat down in front of the worrying dog. “What are you her father?”

“No, but her father trained me and trusted me with her. If something happens to her then I’ll have let him down.” The dog admitted to the cocky cat. Miles smiled sympathetically. Even though Louis acted all tough he had such a week point for Dalila and truly wanted her safe and to keep the promise he had made her old man to protect her.

“I can’t wait to see how you act on her wedding day.” Miles said with a chuckle as he stood up, ready to make his way to his bed in Dalila’s room.

“Come again?” Louis instantly questioned. Miles stopped and stared at Louis for a long while – trying to figure out what he didn’t understand.

“When Dalila has her own wedding? When she marries her own future husband? That guy will then be expected to protect her too you know.”

“NO!” Louis barked causing the cat to jump. “NONONO! Dalila CANNOT get married, I won’t allow it! No man is worthy of her!!”

“…Louis you won’t be able to stop her.” Miles pointed out matter-of-factly.

“WATCH ME!” He growled as he turned around and ran back to Dalila’s room. When he busted into the room he saw that Dalila had changed back into normal clothes.

“Woah there.” Dalila said in surprise at the sudden reappearance of the Manetric. “Where’s the fire buddy?” She joked as she grabbed her purse off the bed.

“DALILA! You absolutely CANNOT get married! You can’t leave me!” Louis quickly yelled at Dalila, but it only came out as panic barks to Dalila.

“Louis. I am going to this wedding and that’s final. Now excuse me as I go out. I need to get some new earring to wear. I’ll be back later.” Dalila brushed past her frantic dog and toward the door that would lead her out into the hotel hallway. All her way down to the door Louis was right at her heels, frantically barking at her.

“Dalila, please listen to me. I’ll let you go to as many event as you want by yourself, just don’t go and get married!” Louis wined just as Dalila reached the front door.

“Louis, I am going to that wedding and that’s final.” Dalila opened the door and slammed it closed behind her to make her point.

Louis stood behind the door for only a moment before his legs gave out and he flopped on the floor in defeat.

                “She misunderstood me.” He cried.

“Told you.” Said the smug voice of Miles.

“Oh shut-up you stupid cat.” Louis covered his face with his paws in defeat.

“Look at the bright side, Louis.” Miles trotted next to Louis. He leaned down and gave the defeated dog a hearty lick on the ear. “If she does get married, you’ll still have me to keep you company.”

At that Louis let out a low wine of sadness as Miles sat next to him, knowing full well he wasn’t making anything better.

I really wanted to draw Dalila in a pretty dress that she'd wear to the wedding but.... my art was really bad and discouraged me ;A; But luckly I had this great idea 8D Poor Louis is not ready to give Dalila away. Luckly Miles will be there to make it all worse better.

Word Count: 1234 (can we all take a moment and laugh at the word count?)

This poor dog- "YOU CAN'T GET MARRIED I WON'T ALLOW IT." He's such a daddy dog. I can only imagine if he had puppies what he would do with them. XD

And that word count is fantastic.
